About Shanna Gentry

Shanna Gentry has been helping buyers and sellers navigate the real estate market since 2003. She began her career as a buyer’s agent with a top-performing team at RE/MAX Ability Plus in Carmel, Indiana, where she gained early experience in the REO and foreclosure market by working closely with seasoned brokers and real estate investors.

In 2005, Shanna returned to her hometown of Aurora, Indiana and joined Joshua One Custom Homes as Sales & Marketing Manager, serving the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati markets. During this time, she developed extensive knowledge in new home sales, buyer design selections, construction change orders, and coordination with project managers and interior designers — providing her with a valuable behind-the-scenes understanding of the homebuilding process.

Recognizing a growing need for knowledgeable representation in distressed property sales, Shanna founded Empire Real Estate in 2007. She leveraged her REO expertise to create a specialized niche serving Southeastern Indiana buyers and investors. In 2008, she launched EmpireRepos.com, a consumer-friendly website designed to give the local community free, easy access to government and bank-owned property listings without obligation or cost.

Over the years, Shanna’s business has grown through strong relationships, consistent results, and a commitment to integrity and exceptional customer service. While widely recognized as a local REO expert, she is equally experienced in traditional residential real estate and prides herself on offering honest guidance and personalized support to every client.

In addition to leading Empire Real Estate, Shanna has served on the Dearborn County Property Tax Board of Appeals, expanding her expertise in local property tax processes. She has also held multiple leadership roles with the Southeastern Indiana Board of REALTORS®, including Board of Directors (2018–2019), Chair of the MLS and REALTOR® Safety Committees (2021), and Treasurer (2023). In recognition of her leadership and service, Shanna was honored as 2021 REALTOR® of the Year. She currently serves on the Community Service and MLS Committees, continuing her dedication to both the profession and the community she serves.
